A promotional film, "Lunker Lore" was created by Evinrude Outboards and featured Buck Perry and the basics of his Spoonplugging approach. It also featured Don Nichols, the man credited with convincing Buck to come north and give his now famous 1957 Chicago presentation at the Morrison Hotel. There were two paper booklets created to go along with the film, one of which was a multi-page comic book representation of the movie concept, written by noted Chicago Tribune Outdoor columnist Tom McNally.
