A short video from this weekend. I pulled out the Lowrance "green box" and went fishing over the holiday. These units still work great after all these years.

The Revolution Has Been Sighted
A screen capture for the first 2017 Angling Buzz TV show. Yes, technology is nice, new gear is great, but in some instances I think we've gone too far. Nothing wrong with "green boxes and Spoonplugs" in my book. They both still work! Check out the episode on YouTube, now.
A neat video posted to Angling Buzz with Ron Lindner talking a little about the history behind the worm blower. One comment: He shows an ad from Lindy which he dates to 1968-1969 and they mention being the inventor. However, I know for certain that Bill Binkelman was using one back in 1965 (and he gave one to Jack Crawford for Christmas that year). He had picked them up at a 1965 tackle show, used them later that year, then proceeded to write about them in the January 1966 issue of Fishing News. He offered them for sale to readers in a kit called the Blo-Worm Kit which he sold for $1.69.
Duke Marx was the man responsible for bringing Bill Binkelman to TV in what some have referred to as the first pure (100%) fishing show. The Marx Advertising Agency was based in Milwaukee, as was Bill.
The history of the Lindner's in roughly 3 minutes. Some great old video and photos, narrated by Ron Lindner. Watch for Bill Binkelman's Fishing News, one of the early media outlets for Al and Ron.
In this Midwest Outdoors podcast, Spence Petros talks about his beginnings, learning from Terry O'Malley, fishing with Buck Perry and the impact Buck and Spoonplugging made on him.
