Here's a something a little different for those living near the Wabash River.
The organizers of the Merom Chautauqua Festival have added a contest/tournament to their 3 day line-up of events. In this case though, the target is Asian Carp, and the contest is mostly about raising awareness of, and informing the public about the dangers these fish impose on our waterways, especially our river systems at the moment...and having some fun in the process.
Asian Carp Netting Contest on the Wabash (heats at 1:00 and 4:00), Sat. June 7. For more info, see the entry below, or visit merom, in (www.meromindiana.org). ALso check out the short video from our neighbors over in Illinois to see how bad these fish are getting.
