Michael over at Bass Rankings sent me this info to pass along to you guys; their state rankings system, in this case for Indiana anglers.
Thank you for your article "Indiana Pro Rankings Updated". It is appreciated. We like your site and what you are doing. Another thing that can assist you for locals and how they rank within the state, you can also check out our state ranking as well as our lake rankings for lakes that have enough registered events. Guys not fortunate enough of ambitious enough to fork out the money on the top level have really given us feedback of appreciation for this. What this is, when we enter events is we have certain indentifiers. The state the event took place, etc. This is nothing more than a filter of just events that took place in that state, but don't limit to any particular level. You can easily play with the criteria at the bottom of the page, and can see what events are being used toward the ranking at the top of the page. Remember these guys had to fish a tournament within the state of Indiana to show up. They don't necessarily live in the state. This ranking, like all of our rankings, simply present the information for the viewer in an easy way for them to decide who is the best where, when, and can even infer technique specific strengths of the angler.
You can access the Indiana rankings at the following link: Indiana Bass Rankings
Once inside the site, and as mentioned, you can change the criteria used to get any particular set of rankings. Things such as date (time frame), tournament level, angler type, and minimum number of qualifying events can all be adjusted. Standard rankings are based upon a two year average of events. The one weakness I see at present is that the only events currently being used are the BFLs held on Indiana waters (largely Ohio and Indiana divisions) and the old Bassmaster Weekend Series. I say "old" because they only ran for a year here in Indiana back in 2012. There were no Indiana division events in 2013, and none are scheduled again this year. A better option would likely be the Indiana Bass Federation events, which would then give you the two state level circuits based upon the two larger respective Tour circuits (B.A.S.S. and FLW).
Anyway, play around with them and have fun. By the way, this also works for the co-anglers which is pretty cool.
