Robert Peters of Crown Pt., Indiana has been on some awfully big muskie these past two years. He recently sent me some pics of a couple he caught over the past month. The measurements on the first one (two pics) were 57.75" by 28.5" You can look that up on any of the online weight calculators to get an estimate. Since the fish was caught from a C&R only lake, there was no good way to get a certified weight. I'll just leave my final comment as mentioning the current state record Indiana muskie is 42-08 caught back in 2002.

Nice Spring Northern Indiana Largemouth
Rob Peters caught this giant largemouth on a 9" crankbait at dusk on 3-25-16 in Lake County, Indiana. First bass of the season. He said the baitfish and crappie are moving, water is 40 degrees, intentionally used oversized square billed crankbait seeking only big bass or musky. It worked out for bass.

Morse Res. & the White R. Pics

Northern IL/IN Report
The fish in Northern IL/IN came off the beds about 2-3 weeks ago. The pattern for me is tough the week after the spawn, but then it's about 2 weeks after where the big ones really have their feedbag on. This year was no different. The bite has been pretty consistent all spring, but I was out Thursday and in 3.5 hours of fishing my top 5 were just over 21 lbs. Also, bluegill fished for about an hour and got quite a few nice 8-9.5” bluegill. I’m including a pic of the top fish for the day which was a 6#10-oz. LMB which came on a 5” black no flake senko.

I also wanted to send a photo from this past weekend at Geist. Father-in-law (Chris Poore) and I went for crappie. Ended up catching a nice mess of crappie along with 20+ bass, including this nice one.
Fish came out of 6-8ft of water on a large flat next to 20 ft.+ drop. Small grubs swimming just clear of weeds on 6lb test Berkley Fluorocarbon line.
