So it's not quite the dead sea now days, but it's nothing special either. A look at the USA Bassin results for this year so far (3 events) reveals less than a quarter of the field, on average, coming in with a limit of bass. Plus there have only been 3 stringers over 15 pounds weighed to date out of more than 45 total teams. Still, I needed a quick place to get a few hours of fishing in today that wouldn't be overrun with boaters. Took a while but Flint finally popped into my head. Seemed like a good idea, but it turned out to be packed by the time I got there at a little after 3:00. Still, I launched and fished around for just under three hours and managed to snag a couple decent keepers in the process, which was about as good as I was expecting/hoping. Water was somewhat stained but not bad, and right about 80-81 degrees.
Speaking of snagged, I pulled in a pair of lures today that I got hung up in. If this is your creature bait and swivel head jig, now just 3X larger than normal (damn salt), let me know and you can have it back. However, if this is your glass Shad Rap you're not so lucky. I have a few walleye I need to catch this summer and that looks like the perfect crankbait to help me do just that :)
Jig gear: 7’4” heavy Denali Rosewood worm & jig casting rod, Shimano Castaic casting reel (6.2:1 gear ratio), 16-pound Toray Superhard Upgrade fluorocarbon line, 3/8-oz. Arkie jig (PBJ), Zoom Super Chunk Jr. trailer (pumpkin green flake).
I was also there, small bass club. launched at 6 am and fished till 2:30 pm I only had 2 keepers at 5.65 but it took 12.80 to win and 12.50 for second. pretty sure everybody caught fish. glad we left when we did, that place was starting to be a zoo.

That must have been you out there fishing the bridge area on the main lake. That's right in front of my place. I thought that was you. Your brave, it was crazy out there.

Steve - Guess I missed the club, but you sure couldn't tell from the parking lot. Wasn't sure I'd get a spot when I first pulled up.
Allen - Very well could have been me. I started in that general area for the first hour or so I was there. Was busy, but still nothing like some of the larger reservoirs on a holiday weekend.
