FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 13, 2012
Mountain Home, AR - Premium rod maker Denali Rods has announced the signing of former FLW Tour angler and 2013 Elite Series Rookie Hank Cherry, of Maiden, N.C. to their National Pro-Staff. Cherry punched his ticket into the 2013 Bassmaster Classic in October by winning the final Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Open on Alabama’s Smith Lake.
His victory also bumped him up to fourth in the Southern Open points, from which the top five automatically qualify for the Elites. The decision to jump to the Elites wasn’t a tough one for the North Carolina Angler.
“I’ve worked so hard for this and it’s always been my goal, so once I knew I was going to be in the top-5, it was all about trying to make the sponsor side work. A couple buddies had been using Denali’s rods and I actually drew one of Denali’s owners in an FLW Tour event a couple years ago, so I reached out to them again and it has really been great. They are an up-and-coming company and I am an up-and-coming angler, so we’ve got a lot of ways we can help each other out.”
Denali president Scott Estes is also excited to have Hank on board, claiming “We have been looking to get someone on the Elites for a while, so when Hank called we were immediately interested. After talking for a while, it became obvious that he has some of the same goals as we do both in the short and long term. We think Hank’s gonna do big things on the Elites, so we’re looking forward to working together in the coming years.”
Founded in 2009, Denali has seen a rapid rise in sales and exposure despite a tough economy. That is a testament to the company’s dedication to quality, product development and customer support. Denali offers three complete lines of quality rods starting at $79.99 and their rods come with a limited lifetime warranty against material and workmanship defects.
